1. What inspired you to start writing/creating art, and how has that inspiration evolved over time?

  • My father inspired me to write stories. He would tell me bedtime stories when I was little. He had to stop because of work, so I decided to write some stories.

2. Can you share the story behind your latest work? What was your creative process like?

  • My latest work is actually my spoken word piece called Stay Pretty. The story of the title is the common saying that if you look good you feel good. When it comes to my spoken word pieces, I would brainstorm 5 to 10 minutes for my spoken word. I would write the spoken word track until I feel it’s completed.

3. What themes or messages do you aim to convey through your work, and why are they important to you?

  • I aim to convey themes of empowerment, self-discovery, and resilience through my work. These themes are important to me because they reflect personal experiences and challenges, and they offer a way to connect with others who may be going through similar struggles.

  • Empowerment is central to many of my pieces, as it represents the journey of taking control of one’s own life and finding strength within oneself. Self-discovery is another key theme, highlighting the process of becoming your person. These messages are vital because they encourage others to persevere and find their own path to fulfillment and success. They also help me process and express my own experiences, turning challenges into sources of strength and creativity.

4. What advice would you give to aspiring authors/artists who are just starting their journey?

  • I recommend they start small. When I was 9 years old, I started to write short stories. Eventually, I started to write novels with around fifty thousand words.

5. How do you handle challenges like writer's block or creative burnout, and what motivates you to keep going?

  • Sometimes stepping away from the project helps clear the mind. Whether it's a short walk, a day off, or doing something unrelated to creativity, giving myself a break can provide new perspectives and renewed energy.  I immerse myself in different forms of art, music, or literature. Finding inspiration in other works can reignite my creativity and offer new directions for my own projects.

6. What’s next for you? Can you share any upcoming projects or future creative goals you’re excited about?

  • I am very excited for my spoken word album, it has some hip-hop and rap as well. My biggest dream is to be signed by a label, referring independently.

7. Who are some of your biggest creative influences, and how have they shaped your work or style?

  • Lisa's powerful stage presence and confident performances inspire me to bring a similar energy and assertiveness to your spoken word pieces. Her ability to command attention and convey confidence can help me develop a bold and impactful delivery.

8. How has your personal life or experiences influenced your writing/art, and are there any particular moments that stand out?

  • Personal struggles and challenges often find their way into my work. For instance, themes of empowerment and resilience in my pieces reflect my own journey through pain and heartbreak. These experiences help me convey genuine emotions and connect with others on a deeper level.
