1. What inspired you to start writing/creating art, and how has that inspiration evolved over time?

  • I’ve always loved being creative, ever since I was little. This included drawing, photography, and even sewing and other crafts, but I always circled back to drawing. I looooove to create fanart for my favorite stories!

2. Can you share the story behind your latest work? What was your creative process like?

  • I’ve always got several pieces on the go, but my last piece ‘checking in’ has been something I’ve kind of been working on for a few years. I originally created a piece to represent long distance relationships, but one of my favourite bands came out with a song about checking in with old friends, which inspired me to recreate the piece using lyrics from the song as the messages on the canvas.

3. What themes or messages do you aim to convey through your work, and why are they important to you?

  • I loooove to portray love stories! Drawing couples has got to be one of my favourite things, as we all need meaningful connections in our lives.

4.  What advice would you give to aspiring authors/artists who are just starting their journey?

  • Don’t give up! Keep practicing. You’ll never be good enough if you never try.

5.  What role has self-publishing or independent production played in your career, and what have you learned from the process?

  • I’ve learned that there’s a lot of admin work behind being an illustrator with open commissions! And a lot of marketing haha

6. How do you connect with your audience, and what has been your favorite moment of reader or viewer feedback?

  • Someone told me once that I was their favourite artist and that just blew me away. I love to connect through my art, and by keeping in touch through various socials.

7. How do you handle challenges like writer's block or creative burnout, and what motivates you to keep going?

  • This is why I like having a few pieces on the go, if I get tired of one I take a break from it and move on to a different piece. This usually helps me keep going, but if I’m totally burnt out or feeling drained I’ll put everything away for a small amount of time to rest and recharge and then come back.

8. What’s next for you? Can you share any upcoming projects or future creative goals you’re excited about?

  • I’m getting into cover design! I have a few projects lined up for indie authors to design and illustrate their covers so I can’t wait to share!

9. Who are some of your biggest creative influences, and how have they shaped your work or style?

  • My biggest creative influence is definitely Disney, which I think comes through in my style. I grew up watching the classics on repeat and drawing my favourite characters.

Beyond that, I reference Spike Jonze’s Her and Andrew Niccol’s GATTACA as huge influences for this particular novel.

10. How has your personal life or experiences influenced your writing/art, and are there any particular moments that stand out?

  • Nothing in particular, I’m just always inspired by the creativity I see from others online!
